The Minnesota Supercomputing Institute (MSI) has changed its external consulting fee schedule. Until now, MSI has charged a single $188 per hour rate for all external consulting services. Going forward, the institute will charge different rates for technical and scientific consulting:

The technical consulting rate remains at $188 per hour. This includes algorithm development; code optimization; development of parallel codes; development of scripts; and assistance with applied problems, software, or software packages.

The scientific consulting rate is $126 per hour. This includes development of research topics or the carrying out of applications in genomics, bioinformatics, proteomics, etc.
